Geological Formation:

Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral usually formed in environments with low oxygen levels and abundant sulfer and iron. It can be formed through a number of processes such as in hydrothermal veins where hot, mineral-rich fluids circulate and cool down through fractures in rocks. Pyrite can then form as it precipitates out from the fluids during the cooling process. Pyrite can also form in sedimentary rocks as organic matter breaks down and releases sulfur. If sulfur reacts with iron minerals in the rock, it can form pyrite. Additionally, pyrite can form during metamorphism when existing rocks become further compacted due to the heat and pressure underground. In this instance, if iron-rich minerals are subjected to this heat and pressure, pyrite can be formed.

Pyrite is also known as a protective stone in Feng Shui and can be worn to protect you from negative energy and helping to keep you calm in stressful situations.
